my love of water

I love water

~ I love to drink it, especially with a lemon wedge or two.

~ I love traveling by cruise ship, because there’s water all around and all the stops are water-front…

~ I love rain, and rainstorms, the smell of rain and the sound of rain beating on the roof of my trailer.

~ I love the sound of water, from fountains or water features, from creeks or streams, waterfalls or the ocean.

~ I love lakes, the smooth glass like surface, and puttering across them as I troll for trout.

~ I love rivers, just sitting there watching the water flow by ~ I dream of living in a houseboat on the Sacramento River.

~ I love mountain streams, I’m especially fond of the memories of the creek on my Grandparents property ~ that I grew up playing in, or sitting on a raft in the middle reading a book.

Which brings me to the OCEAN

~ I love the ocean, the sound and the sight of the waves crashing against rocks, standing in the waves feeling my feet being buried in the sand, the smell of salt water and seaweed, the salty mist and the breeze.

My soul is full of longing for the secrets of the sea, and the heart of the great ocean sends a thrilling pulse through me…   Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

It’s hard for me to put into words why I like the beach so much. Everything about it is renewing for me, almost like therapy…Beach Therapy. ~ Amy Dykens

And thankfully I get to go to the ocean this weekend ~ my mom, sisters and I are going to Monterey. It will be a good time, a time of relaxing and renewing, a time of friendship and laughter.

The sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient. One should lie empty, open, choiceless as a beach–waiting for a gift from the sea. ~ Anne Morrow Lindbergh

dark chocolate covered almonds…

My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far today, I have finished 2 bags of M&M’s and a chocolate cake. I feel better already. ~ Dave Barry

Your hand and your mouth agreed many years ago that, as far as chocolate is concerned, there is no need to involve your brain. ~ Dave Barry

daisy groundcover

I see this ground cover as I drive home from work each evening, and I love it. It gets mowed over once a week or so, and within a couple days it’s blooming again. Anyone have any idea what it is?
