5 reasons why hope is bright today

I read this post today and thought I can do this ~ I can list 5 reasons why hope is bright today.

And so today, there is bright hope because:

1.  God Is and He has everything in His hands

2.  Spring has come again and flowers are blooming

3.  Little kids and my puppy can make me laugh

4.  The ocean still rolls but it stops right where He says

5.  I can choose joy and choose to be thankful

What is your bright hope today?

” Live, then, and be happy, beloved children of my heart, and never forget, that until the day God will deign to reveal the future to man, all human wisdom is contained in these two words, ‘Wait and Hope.” ~ Alexandre Dumas

biblical hope is bold, strong, and true

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Romans 15:13

Thinking of the word hope I remember the song which we often sing:

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name

This song reminds us that our hope is built upon Jesus Christ and His sacrifice.

Hope is one of those words which means one thing biblically and another in a worldly context. In the world ~ the word hope is often described with the terms “wish” or “desire.” But, when the word hope is used in the Bible it has a stronger meaning. Biblical hope is not flimsy or fragile like a wish; it is much deeper than a simple desire. Biblical hope is bold, strong, and true.

That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Hebrews 6:18-19

In the Bible the word hope indicates a confidence that Christians have in the Lord. Our hope is that we will be in heaven with the Lord if we remain faithful until death or the Lord comes again. Our hope in the Lord is built on the faith we have in Him.

We also need to realize that hope is not something which we can see with our own eyes, because if we could see it, it is no longer hope.

For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Romans 6:24-25

Our hope in the Lord is a precious promise of a life in heaven with the Lord. Our hope in the Lord is a gift, a gift so wonderful we cannot even imagine it.

Interesting translation

Mat 11:28-30  Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.   For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

I saw an interesting translation of this – I’m not saying it’s gospel – just an interesting twist

=============================================================

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to Me. Get away with Me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me – watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

– grace words spoken by Jesus, as recorded in Matthew 11:28-30, MSG

Who or What is your hope in?

Is your hope in your job, in your finances, in the government taking care of you, in your friends, in your family, or in yourself? All these things can, do and will fail you! But if your hope and expectation is in Christ – you will never be let down!!

  1. Have we any hope within us of a life beyond the grave,
    In the sweet and vernal lands?
    Do we know if this, our tabernacle, were to be dissolved,
    We’ve a house not made with hands?

    • Refrain:
      We have a hope within our souls,
      Brighter than the perfect day:
      God has given us His Spirit,
      And we want the world to hear it,
      All the doubts are passed away.
  2. Blessed hope we have within us is an anchor to the soul,
    It is both steadfast and sure;
    It is founded on the promises of Father’s written word,
    And ’twill evermore endure.
  3. Hope has brought us through the dangers and temptations of the past,
    And we fear not those to come;
    By her blessings we’ll go forward, while our mortal life shall last,
    Then we’ll joyously go home.
  4. Since we’ve walked the strait and narrow way our path has ever shone
    Brighter, brighter, day by day;
    Hope within our hearts assures us it is better farther on,
    It is brighter all the way.
  5. Life will end in joyful singing, “I have fought a faithful fight,”
    Then we’ll lay our armor down;
    And our soul will break the cable here, and take its happy flight,
    To possess a starry crown.         William G. Schell  1893
