I wandered around my yard yesterday, looking for signs of spring ~
and found it – in wisteria leaves beginning to sprout
my little lilac bush is beginning to bud
blossoms that fell because of the rain we’ve had
seeing the reflection of trees beginning to leaf in rain puddles and more flower petals
these daisy friends have been hanging out with me all winter, they sure are cheerful
and last but not least, the first bloom from my christmas cactus in a LONG time
thanks for coming along on the walk around my yard, ya’ll come back now, ya hear…
a bird that has lost it’s feathers can no longer sail through the sky’s. and a person who has lost her memories can no longer find her way through the world she once called home. but still, i keep my faith. but as long as i have my life, new memories will be carved into the sand of time. ~ sakura
Can anyone tell me what type of plant / flower this is? I saw it as I was taking a walk on Saturday…
Flowers don’t worry about how the’re going to bloom. They just open up and turn toward the light and that makes them beautiful. ~ Jim Carrey
On Fridays around these parts we stop, drop, and write. For fun, for love of the sound of words, for play, for delight, for joy and celebration at the art of communication.
For only five short, bold, beautiful minutes. Unscripted and unedited. We just write without worrying if it’s just right or not.
Today’s word ~ VIVID
I love flowers for many different reasons:
- for their fragrance ~ roses, carnations, sweet peas, lily of the valley
- for their uniqueness ~ passion flower, orchids, heliconia, protea
- for their beauty ~ lizianthus, hydrangea, tulips
- for the times they remind me of ~ yellow roses, bird of paradise
I’m so glad God didn’t create the world in just black and white – I’m so thankful for the VIVID colors around us.
