Dad decided again to stay behind as us four ladies went to explore Boston. We took a shuttle bus from the port into the downtown /shopping area of Boston.
We also found out there are MANY different flavors of Macaroni & Cheese (Margaret – do you think your boys would try any of these?).
We wandered around many old buildings and new – found a neat old book store – many books – old & new – bookcases in every nook and cranny.
We walked by an old graveyard and were fascinated by the carvings on the grave stones – skulls and skeletons.
While we were looking in the graveyard we found a gravestone of a relative on the Topper side – Joseph Tapping (Tapping changed to Topper over the years).
We went by a Post Office to try to get something in the mail – but while we were writing, the Post Office closed – so we had to mail the things from the ship. We came back to the ship as the sun was going down…
We went our seperate ways for the evening – Emily & I listened to more music – a man playing guitar and singing Irish ballads. We continued our Rummy game that we started the first night.
